Autumn is Center Stage!

May 2017 Old School picI say this every year and it’s true – Autumn is the most beautiful time of year in mid-Missouri! When the leaves change the entire area just lights up with color.  We are especially fond of the drive down Hwy 100 from Washington to Chamois.  The yellow and gold leaves burst on the scene in bright display and the deep reds just calm the soul.  There is something mesmerizing about a country drive in the Fall.  The sound of the leaves rustling and the smell of a fireplace or a bon fire make that light weight sweater even more comfy cozy.

We love hosting guests this time of year because the hallways are cool yet comfortable and the views are just gorgeous.  I start pulling out pumpkin and apple recipes and all seems right with the world.  Our rooms are filled with guests and something about the Old School comes alive with voices and breakfast is usually lively while guests find unique connections with one another.  This happens all the time!

IMG_0130October is full of events and you can find many of them at this link about 50 Fantastic Fall Festivals You Won’t Want to Miss.  Our own Chamois Day September 16th is on the list!

Hermann has Octoberfest all month long and you can find wonderful wineries, antique stores and food that makes you love the season.

Rosebud, Missouri has the Grand Antique Mall that opens the first weekend of each month and for October that means the 6th and 7th!  I’ve already looked at their social media phRosebudotos and completely love the selection available for the weekend.  This is the perfect weekend for ladies to drive out in your SUV or just bring a big old van (maybe even a UHaul) because you will want it all.  Our big parking lot will hold whatever vehicle you bring! Here is the link to their Facebook page photos for October.  Leave room for me to go with you!

Wesweater still have availability for a couple of weekends, so check our About page on the website.  You cannot go wrong with a trip to our area in the Fall.  Come stay at the Old School on the Hill B&B this Fall.  You will leave with a sense of yesteryear, nostalgia and will be so glad you brought your favorite sweater to curl up with.
